Army Institute of Technology, Pune (AIT) is an undergraduate engineering college affiliated to the University of Pune. AIT is located at Dighi Hills, Alandi Road area in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Only wards of army personnel are allowed admission. The admission is done through JEE MAINS exam. AIT functions under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and has the seniormost officers of the Indian Army, the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army (COAS), as the President of its Board of Governors.
AIT offers under-graduate and post-graduate engineering courses. Under- graduate (Four year duration): Computer Engineering(120 seats), Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (120 seats), Information Technology (60 seats) and Mechanical Engineering (60 seats) , Post-graduate(Two year duration) : Mechanical Design (18 seats). All above programmes are approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) and affilated by Savitribai Phule Pune University (formarly Pune University). All U.G courses are accrediated by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A Grade in 2016 and NBA. Under Graduate receives a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree & Post Graduate receives a Master of Enginering (ME) degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army. Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus being made available in February 2018. The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2018.
Qualification - Class XII or equivalent (appeared or passed) with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject. Candidates should obtain at least 50% in the above combination subjects.
Should appear for JEE (Main) 2018 examination and have acquired appropriate/required ranking as per All India Ranking List published by CBSE for admission to Engineering Colleges. (Last year, last admitted All India Ranking was 1,06,970).
Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission.
AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE (Main) 2018). All applicants are therefore required to appear in JEE Main 2018 and also apply to AIT for Admission. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.
JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in the month of April, 2018.

Admission at AIT, Pune, will tentatively take place within two weeks after the date of declaration of CBSE All India Rank. Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT website www.aitpune.com in the month of June, 2018.
